Soap Box Derby 2013

The Immaculate Equestrian Academy and Hughes Industries were thrilled to enter the Soap Box Derby on the 14 September 2013. Hosted by the charity Dare To Dream, all the proceedings went to help underprivileged children.

We would like to thank all our wonderful staff that volunteered their time to participate in this memorable event. Without them Hughes Industries and IEA would not have been able to win the joint prize for most enthusiastic team.

Hughes Industries provided a scrumptious beef spit braai for all their clients and staff as well as a MKIII charcoal braai for the winners of the Soap Box Derby. The Immaculate Equestrian Academy also provided 4 free horse-riding lessons towards the winnings of the day.

Overall, everyone had a remarkable time filled with good food, great company and loads of incredible memories. We simply cannot wait for the 2014 Soap Box Derby.

The newest addition to Hughes Industries.

An additional option for your Gas braai just to add that finishing touch. This is the carving board attachment.

Lambri Charcoal Spit Model MK III

The frame and drive train of this machine is identical to the MK II Model, the only difference is in the position of the fire box. This spit has one large firebox on the bottom, as opposed to two smaller ones on the side of the machine. The advantage of this model is that by attaching the adjustable grates this spit can be used as a conventional braai. The adjustable grates come standard with this model.

Lambri Charcoal Spit MK II

This spit braai is ideal for entrepreneurs who intend to rent it out to the public. To dismantle this spit braai takes less then two minutes, and one can fit this machine in the boot of a middle sized motor car, making it the number one choice with butcher shops and rental companies.

Our beautiful G1.

Hughes Industries Gas Machine.

Below are photo's of our Gas Spit Braai Mod. 3-2250 LPG. It is versatile and reliable as an outdoor or indoor gas over spit braai. We can proudly boast our SABS and LP Gas Association approval, which is essential should an accident occur as the certificate will be required before an insurance claim can be approved.

The shell and the spit bar on our models are made of Stainless Steel, the frame is made out of mild steel and it is electro-galvanised to give it long lasting protection and an attractive finish.

General Information.

The recommended loading capacities for our Spit Braais are the same on all the models, as we use the same motor and spit-bar for all our machines. Engraved on the spit braai motors is a maximum recommended load of up to 21kg. This suggestion applies to pigs which are very unbalanced when mounted on the spit braai. Lambs can be a maximum of 24kg and for balanced loads (E.g. boneless meat) up to 40kg.

Whether it's charcoal, brickets, wood or gas, Hughes Industries has a braai to meet almost any requirements. The spit-bars on the braais are rotated using a 220v electric motor. This can easily be powered by separate batteries or a vehicle's battery using an inverter. It all is dependent on the client's requirements.

Hughes Industries are registered gas fitters.
